Allied Radiology Technical Assistant - Per Diem

The Allied Radiology Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient delivery of diagnostic imaging services to patients of all ages. Collaborating closely with the radiology team, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, assisting with patient transport, clerical duties, and supply management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize TEAM principles (Teamwork, Empathy, Accountability, Messaging) when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance patient experience and participate in service improvement initiatives.
  • Perform patient identification using two identifiers and verify with wristbands.
  • Provide basic education to patients about examinations and refer questions appropriately to reduce anxiety.
  • Assist with patient transfers and positioning following no-lift protocols.
  • Prepare procedure rooms between cases and restock supplies.
  • Perform clerical tasks including document collection and data generation for procedures.
  • Support electronic image management, including importing and sharing images.
  • Assist with communication between radiologists, providers, and technologists.
  • Manage waste disposal and maintain cleanliness in multiple areas.
  • Report defective equipment and inventory emergency supplies as needed.
  • Maintain ongoing competencies and demonstrate responsibility for patient satisfaction.
Education and Training

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Current BLS certification is mandatory. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited radiography program and have completed at least the first semester.

Experience and Skills

No prior work experience is required. Excellent guest relations, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to read English are essential. Flexibility in work tasks and schedules is important.
