Job description

Be the calm, skilled presence patients need as they wake and recover.
We’re seeking experienced PACU Registered Nurses who thrive in fast‐paced, high‐acuity environments and excel at post‐anesthesia care. If you enjoy rapid assessment, critical thinking, and guiding patients safely through recovery, this role is for you.

Schedule

  • 7a or 7p | 12‐Hour Shifts
  • Per Diem flexibility

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor patients closely as they recover from anesthesia, assessing airway, level of consciousness, and vital signs
  • Identify and respond quickly to post‐operative complications or changes in patient condition
  • Administer pain management, anti‐nausea medications, IV fluids, and other post‐op treatments as ordered
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe recovery and continuity of care
  • Educate patients and families on post‐operative expectations, discharge instructions, and home care
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record

What We’re Looking For

  • Active RN license in the state of practice
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent PACU experience required
  • BLS required (ACLS preferred; PALS a plus depending on patient population)
  • Strong post‐anesthesia assessment and critical‐thinking skills
  • Comfort managing airways, pain control, and rapid patient turnover
  • Excellent communication, time‐management, and teamwork skills
