Position Title: Apprentice Millwork Installer (Major Home-improvement Retailer)

Pay Range: $30,000 โ€“ $35,000 per year (with growth to $55,000 โ€“ $60,000 within ~12 months based on performance)

Job Overview

By-Tor Contracting Inc. is seeking motivated Apprentice Millwork Installers to join our growing field operations team. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals looking to build a long-term career in residential millwork and door installation. Apprentices will work directly alongside experienced Lead Installers, receiving hands-on training with the goal of progressing into an independent installer role within approximately one year.

Through our partnership with Loweโ€™s, this position offers consistent, year-round work and a clear path for advancement in a high-demand trade.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Lead Installers with residential interior and exterior door installations
  • Learn proper measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing techniques
  • Prepare and maintain tools, materials, and work areas
  • Protect customer homes and maintain clean, organized job sites
  • Follow installation standards, safety procedures, and company guidelines
  • Communicate respectfully with homeowners and team members
  • Travel to job sites as required (per diem provided when applicable)
  • Demonstrate reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn


Qualifications

  • Some hands-on experience in construction, carpentry, or home improvement preferred (but not required)
  • Strong interest in learning a skilled trade and growing into an installer role
  • Positive attitude and ability to take direction from Lead Installers
  • Good communication and professionalism in customer-facing environments
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and working on job sites
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record preferred
  • EPA Lead Certification a plus (training assistance provided if needed)


Compensation & Career Growth

  • Starting salary: $30,000 โ€“ $35,000 per year
  • Structured training program with hands-on mentorship
  • Clear path to promotion to Lead Installer within approximately 12 months
  • Expected earning potential of $55,000 โ€“ $60,000+ upon advancement
