Job description

Build Steel. Build Teams. Build Something That Lasts.

If you're a skilled ironworker who knows how to rig, connect, bolt, and erect steel, and you're tired of being treated like just another body on the job site, our team is looking for a skilled Ironworker to join our team.

At S&R Enterprises, we're building more than structures. We're building a crew of ironworkers who take pride in their craft and have each other's backs when it matters most.

Who Thrives in This Role?

The best ironworkers on our team know the job isn't easy, but that's exactly why they love it.

You'll fit right in if you are:

  • Experienced Steel Erector: Skilled in rigging, connecting, plumbing, and bolting structural steel.
  • Blueprint Confident: Comfortable reading plans and understanding structural layouts.
  • Height Ready: You're comfortable working at elevation on active construction sites.
  • Weather Tough: Heat, cold, wind--if the job's moving, you're working.

What You'll Do as an Ironworker

As an Ironworker at S&R, your work directly drives the progress of every project.

Here's what success looks like in this role:

  • Keep Projects Moving: Install and erect structural steel to keep projects on schedule.
  • Execute Precision Work: Ensure steel connections, alignment, and installation meet quality standards.
  • Read and Follow Plans: Interpret blueprints and layout instructions accurately.
  • Maintain Jobsite Standards: Protect materials, maintain tools, and help keep the jobsite organized.
  • Protect the Crew: Follow safety protocols and speak up when something isn't right.

Pay & Benefits

We believe hard work deserves strong compensation and opportunities to maximize your earnings.

Here's how we support our ironworkers:

  • Competitive Pay: $28 - $36 per hour based on experience. 50-60 hours per week.
  • Per Diem Available: $600 - $700 per week for workers traveling outside the project area.
  • Overtime Opportunities: Additional hours available to boost your income.
  • Consistent Work: Ongoing steel erection projects in the Columbia / Annapolis Junction area.
  • Over Time Available: 50 - 60 hours of work per week, so plenty of OT.

Qualifications

Before joining our team, you should have:

  • 3+ Years Ironworker Experience in steel erection.
  • Steel Erection Skills: rigging, connecting, plumbing, and bolting.
  • Ability to Read Plans and follow construction layouts.
  • Personal Ironworker Tools.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Naturalized Citizenship.
