A Per Diem Insulation Installer is a skilled tradesperson who installs insulation materials in buildings on a temporary or as-needed basis, often paid a daily rate (per diem) rather than a full-time salary. Their primary responsibilities include measuring, cutting, and fitting insulation materials to walls, ceilings, and floors to improve energy efficiency and meet building codes. They may work on residential, commercial, or industrial sites and are typically hired for specific projects or during peak periods. This role requires knowledge of various insulation materials and techniques to ensure proper installation and safety compliance.

To excel as a Per Diem Insulation Installer, you need physical stamina, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of construction or insulation techniques, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with insulation materials, safety equipment, and tools such as blowers, sprayers, and cutting devices is typically required. Strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team set standout installers apart. These skills ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to quality standards, which is critical for client satisfaction and workplace safety.

  • Measure, cut, and properly fit insulation to meet project specifications.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites.
  • Operate insulation equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Work in attics, crawl spaces, walls, and other confined or elevated areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn and improve.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Physical demands:
As an insulation installer, you will face physical demands such as lifting heavy materials, bending and stooping in tight spaces, and climbing ladders or scaffolding for high work. You must stretch and reach overhead, handle tools with dexterity, and endure long hours of repetitive movements.
