Job description

TRAVEL - Per Diem Home Care Aide

Named by the Boston Globe as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts for the last four years, our community-based, mission-driven hospice and palliative care organization seeks a per Diem CNA to join its expanding Home Care Aide team. 

**TRAVEL is required for this position. It’s a requirement to have a CAR. Care is provided in patients’ private homes and residential facilities throughout Greater Boston and parts of MetroWest. Most of our patients’ locations are not accessible by public transportation


Job Responsibilities:

The Per Diem Home Care Aide (HCA) provides hospice client care within their scope of practice consistent with the plan of care as outlined by the Nursing Care Coordinator and in compliance with Good Shepherd Community Care guidelines.

Schedule and Weekly Hours:

Flexible with no specific length of shifts.

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA), or
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Massachusetts with a minimum of 75 hours of clinical study, including classroom training and a minimum of 16 hours of supervised practical training.
  • Experienced working with diverse populations.
  • Is professional, reliable, organized, and demonstrates effective communication skills.
  • Understands the importance of providing quality service and compassionate end-of-life care for clients.

Pay Range:

$19 - $21/hr: This number reflects an average starting range for this position. Individual pay is determined through a variety of factors including experience, education, certifications, and skills and can exceed the starting range.
