Now Hiring: Costume Coordinator for School Visit Program
Department: Costumes
Reports to: Costume Director 
Status: Seasonal, Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Union
Hourly Rate: $27.66/hr.
Expected Dates: 8/1/2026- 11/30/2026
Location: Ashland, OR
This position is represented by IATSE Local 154.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**)

  • Meet with Director of Education and Engagement and School Visit Program (SVP) directors and actors. 
  • Connect with Actors to assemble base costumes such as, black top, black pants, and sneakers. 
  • Collaborate with Actors on the design for specific added costume pieces for various scenes. 
  • Manage SVP budget of $2000.00. 
  • Coordinate with the Costume Rentals Manager and follow rental protocols.  
  • Pull and check out rental costumes. 
  • Purchase costumes and materials. 
  • Schedule fittings with Actors 
  • Provide all costumes to Actors by dress rehearsals. 
  • Complete all costume adjustments by program load out. 
  • Pick up all costumes when teams return to Ashland. 
  • Collaborate with the Wardrobe and Hair Manager to use the OSF facility to clean costumes. 
  • Deliver all purchased costumes to the Education department. 
  • Clean, repair, restore, and deliver all rented costumes to Costume Rentals. 

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:   

High School Diploma or equivalent. Three years working in Costume Shop Theaters sewing and dressing professional actors. 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:  

Experience working with dressing, fitting, styling actors. Ability to meet Director and Actors’ vision and designs.  

Demonstrate understanding of costume terms centering identities, body proportions, hair textures, skin tones.  

Respond, adapt, and remain flexible while accepting changes in an iterative process. 

Schedule and communicate collaboratively and effectively by being clear and punctual.  

Alter, sew, clean, and repair costumes using industry standards. 

 

Physical Ability:   

Ability to move items weighing up to 40 pounds and to lift costumes weighing up to 20 pounds. Ability to kneel, squat, bend, climb ladders and stairs. Ability to sit or stand for 8 hours in a single day with or without modifications. 

 

Hours Requirements:   

Daytime and evening hours, as needed to support the School Visit Program (SVP) during the months of August, September, and last two weeks in November. This role is not to exceed 40 total hours per month without prior approval. Adhere to OSF shop use protocols.

Costume craft making skills, costume sourcing skills, balancing costume budget skills.
