Per-Diem EEG Technician

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Per-Diem EEG Technician in our Montefiore New Rochelle facility

JOB SUMMARY

The EEG technician monitors brain activity by recording electrical impulses. They use this information to diagnose conditions like epilepsy, strokes, and multiple sclerosis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up and perform EEG tests
  • Place electrodes on a patient's scalp
  • Monitor the patient's condition during the test
  • Adjust equipment as needed
  • Maintain and calibrate EEG equipment
  • Interpret EEG results
  • Report findings to a physician
  • Prepare patients for testing
  • Assist in training other EEG technicians
  • Contribute to research studies

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Graduate of approved EEG School/And or Sleep Program preferred
  • Minimum of one year hospital experience preferred
  • ABRET certification or ABRET eligible
  • Demonstrates the necessary knowledge, technical skills and critical thinking ability to perform EEG testing for a select patients with physician's order. Must be able to respond in a patient emergency
  • Basic technical skills/direction and supervision from physician, nursing staff department supervisor.
  • Constant walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting of patients and heavy equipment. Manual dexterity and physical agility required.
