This position is located at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in San Luis Obispo, CA. Nestled in the heart of California's Central Coast, our all-suite hotel offers convenient access to downtown SLO, local wineries, and scenic hiking trails. Surrounded by rolling hills and just minutes from the beach, our property provides the perfect home base for guests to relax, explore, and experience the charm of the Central Coast.

Why do we need you?

 Windsor Hospitality is seeking a friendly and skilled Comp Breakfast Cook to prepare and serve complimentary breakfast for our hotel guests. In this guest-facing role, you will take orders, cook fresh food to order and from the steam table, maintain a clean and sanitary work area, and contribute to an inviting morning dining experience that sets the tone for our guests' day. You will uphold Windsor Hospitality's brand standards and core values - Growth, Resourcefulness, Integrity, and Teamwork (GRIT) - in every aspect of your work. 

What you will do:

1. Take orders from guests and cook food requiring short preparation times according to guest requirements and hotel standards. 
2. Complete orders from the steam table and serve guests at the table or counter. 
3. Ensure all food items are properly handled, labeled, and stored at the conclusion of each shift in accordance with food safety standards. 
4. Maintain proper inventory rotation to ensure freshness and minimize waste. 
5. Clean food preparation equipment, cooking surfaces, and the work area throughout the shift to maintain high sanitation standards. 
6. Clean counters, tables, and service areas as needed. 
7. Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Manager to create daily specials and menu variations. 
8. Maintain uniform and name badge standards at all times while on property. 
9. Support and adhere to Windsor Hospitality's core values, mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy. 
10. Perform all other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor. 

Skills and abilities you bring:

• Knowledge of food preparation health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. 
• Ability to multi-task efficiently and exceed the expectations of guests in a fast-paced environment. 
• Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to take and execute orders accurately. 
• Manual dexterity to use hands, arms, and fingers effectively with kitchen tools and equipment. 
• Ability to work to precise measurements and portion sizes. 
• Spatial awareness to visualize how a finished food item should look and adjust accordingly. 
• Basic math skills to measure ingredients, calculate quantities, and verify portion accuracy. 
• Positive, guest-friendly attitude; able to work at a steady pace while maintaining quality and cleanliness.

Schedule & Hours:

This is a full-time AM shift position with a typical schedule of 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Ability to work any scheduled day of the week, including holidays, based on business needs is required.
