Job description

Michigan Broadband Services is a leading provider of high-speed communications services. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Aerial Foreman to join our team.

The Aerial Foreman oversees aerial fiber construction crews and ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and customer specifications.

This role requires regular visits between job sites, including extended travel and overnight stays throughout Michigans Upper Peninsula, as well as overtime and weekend work.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise field crews in daily aerial construction activities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute aerial fiber installation projects
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations
  • Conduct job site safety meetings and enforce safe work practices
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between field crews, management, and utility representatives
  • Monitor productivity, track project progress, and maintain accurate reporting
  • Train, mentor, and develop crew members
  • Ensure quality standards are met and work is completed to specification

Qualifications

  • Class A CDL Required
  • 3+ years of experience in aerial fiber construction, with leadership or foreman experience preferred
  • Proven ability to supervise crews and manage multiple job sites
  • Strong knowledge of aerial construction methods, pole transfers, and strand construction
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders
  • Experience operating bucket trucks and aerial lift equipment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fiber splicing and testing experience
  • Experience working with utility companies and permitting processes
  • Prior experience in telecommunications or broadband construction environments

Work Conditions

  • Outdoors; in various weather conditions
  • Travel required, including overnight stays
