Job description

Overview

Our NAI&I (North America Insights & Intelligence) team is currently seeking an Associate Category Manager to join our 7-Eleven Snacks, PepsiCo Foods US, (PFUS) Category Leadership team. This role will support the Category Leadership & Insights agenda on the 7-Eleven account across the entire PepsiCo US snacks portfolio. The primary objectives of this role are to drive growth and share gains, as well as an elevated customer partnership, through the development of actionable category strategies leveraging best practices in shopper and customer insights. This position requires both data and business savvy, as well as effective communication and problem-solving skills.

As an Associate Category Manager, you have an opportunity to make an immediate impact in a changing snacks category landscape. You will deliver strategic insight in support of the PepsiCo Snacks (PFUS) Team with our 7-Eleven Sales partners. Specifically, this role will serve as a liaison for our local teams, support the buyer relationship, and the delivery of category insights. This work includes delivering data and consumer-centric category reviews, new product introductions, pricing analyses, promotional planning and evaluation, and assortment evaluation

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Snacks Sales Leads to develop and execute category and portfolio growth initiatives, leveraging consumer, customer, competitive, and category insights
  • Analyze complex category and PFUS performance data to uncover insights and translate them into clear, compelling, and visually impactful selling stories that influence strategy and stakeholders
  • Support the Joint Business Planning (JBP) process for 7Eleven, contributing to strategic planning, opportunity identification, and execution alignment
  • In partnership with the Sr. Category Manager, build and maintain strong relationships with 7Eleven Snacks Buyers, delivering best-in-class category insights through period and monthly reviews
  • Serve as the category lead for field teams, delivering monthly reviews to regional KAMs to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities, and support ad hoc business requests as needed
  • Develop, manage, and maintain category scorecards and performance tracking tools to monitor KPIs and support data-driven decision-making
  •  Collaborate cross-functionally to address ad hoc business needs, providing timely insights and recommendations to support evolving priorities
  • Stay current on category management best practices, tools, and industry trends, continuously building capabilities and elevating team performance
  •  Act as a trusted category voice for the customer team, delivering clear, objective, and insight-driven perspectives to influence strategy and execution
 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $93,500 - $156,450.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree, Business Data and Analytics required
  • 4+ years of category, shopper, or insights experience within CPG
  • 3+ years of experience in analyzing and interpreting data
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking capabilities, with strong skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and driving insights into action
  • Advanced PC proficiency, including expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Hands-on experience leveraging syndicated data and retail analytics tools (e.g., Circana/Nielsen POS, panel data, Retail Link, RSI) to inform business decisions
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, comfortable and desiring to present to Senior Leadership
  • Strong customer development and relationship management skills, with experience partnering directly with retailer category managers and merchandising teams preferred
  • Self-motivated and able to effectively work independently as well as collaboratively across multiple functions
