• Experience working with an enterprise wide, large-scale implementation.
• Excellent communications skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
• Bachelors or Master's Degree in Computer Science or in a Technical/Business Discipline is required.
Key Responsibilities:
• The Senior PeopleSoft Systems Analyst will serve in the HR Payroll group of FISA-OPA. He/she will support the PeopleTools upgrade.
• The objective of this project is to upgrade the PeopleTools engine onto version 8.60 (patch 11) from the current version 8.59 (patch 09).
• The PeopleTools engine is the core of the PeopleSoft system and its upgrade is a significant step towards remaining in support from Oracle, capitalize its cutting-edge features and cater supporting strategic business goals and objectives.
• All existing modules within RET-NYCAPS which are currently used by city agencies will be able to adopt these new features and perform better. This version of tools also plugs many security issues in the current system and extends support to many newer versions of Databases, browsers etc.
• This project will use the traditional waterfall model to govern the software upgrade process.
• This project will move sequentially through the fit-gap analysis, design, construction/retrofits, testing and implementation phases.
• To ensure that the City of New York stays on the supported Oracle version, FISA-OPA is looking to upgrade the PeopleTools engine of PeopleSoft software to version 8.60 for RET-NYCAPS.
• FISA-OPA will do the due diligence, fit-gap analysis, execute appropriate upgrade scripts, perform necessary system configuration, and create/retrofit existing code, conduct full unit and regression tests for all associated components within PeopleTools like integration web services, interfaces and reports to upgrade the current NYCAPS Retiree PeopleTools engine to the newer version.
• The peopletools needs to be upgraded because it has approached its end of support. We routinely open-up support tickets for Oracle for database of PeopleSoft issues - as part of our normal business. When we are not running on supported product levels, either timely answers are not provided, or support is not supported at all. The impact will be application instability, downtime, data loss and / or data corruption. City's data will be at risk and the vulnerabilities must be addressed - particularly for an application with some of the City's most sensitive personally identifying data and personal financial data.
