POSITION PURPOSE

The Employee Experience & Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a positive, engaging, and connected workplace culture throughout the organization. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating employee engagement initiatives, internal events, communications, recognition programs, community involvement activities, and employee-facing marketing efforts that strengthen organizational culture and employee experience.  
This role serves as a central connector between employees, departments, leadership, and the community by creating meaningful experiences, promoting organizational involvement, enhancing internal communications, and supporting people operations initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, creative, process-driven, and energized by working with people in both employee and community-facing environments. 


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee Engagement & Culture 

  • Coordinate and execute employee engagement initiatives, programs, and activities across the organization. 

  • Lead and facilitate the Employee Engagement Committee, including planning meetings, organizing activities, and driving participation. 

  • Coordinate employee appreciation programs, recognition initiatives, awards, giveaways, and celebration events. 

  • Develop creative employee-focused communications, news stories, videos, and culture-related content. 

  • Organize and support company-sponsored employee events, celebrations, wellness activities, and community engagement opportunities. 

  • Assist in creating positive onboarding and employee experience initiatives that support retention and organizational culture. 

  • Reestablish and chair the employee engagement committee, and PTO donation process using an established charter.  Align committee members with UH goals, community initiatives, internal employee events and solicit input and ambassador involvement across all community and UH events. 

Internal Communications & Marketing 

  • Manage internal employee communications, announcements, newsletters, and engagement campaigns. 

  • Oversee and maintain the organization’s SharePoint intranet and employee-facing People Operations pages. 

  • Coordinate marketing and promotional efforts for internal events, job postings, employee initiatives, and organizational culture campaigns. 

  • Create visual and written content including flyers, graphics, photos, videos, and employee spotlight features. 

  • Take photographs and produce engaging content for employee and community events. 

  • Create videos for training purposes and work with department leaders and Workforce Development Coordinator to develop training for UH University. 

Community Engagement & Outreach 

  • Coordinate employee participation and ambassadors for community events, fundraisers, banquets, volunteer activities, and organizational outreach efforts ensuring all are supporting UH with branded swag.   

  • Promote organizational involvement opportunities and recruit employee participation for community-based initiatives. 

  • Support employer branding and community presence through engagement and outreach activities ensuring events are documented, and UH community funding is recognized and internal staff are aware of the support UH offers across the county and community organizations. 

  • Creates and distributes content across social media platforms. 

  • Coordinates with Corporate Relations regarding social media distribution needs. 

Event Planning & Logistics 

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute employee and organizational events from concept through completion. 

  • Manage event timelines, logistics, budgets, vendor coordination, materials, and communication plans. 

  • Develop and maintain efficient event and engagement processes that support consistency and operational excellence. 

  • Create and coordinate branded packages and materials for provider relations, onboarding experiences, recruitment activities, departmental initiatives, and organizational events. 

Swag, Branding & Materials Management 

  • Manage organizational swag inventory, ordering, distribution, storage, and budget tracking. 

  • Ensure branded materials and engagement resources are organized, current, and readily available for internal and external events. 

Administrative & HR Support 

  • Serve as a backup support resource for onboarding processes, performance evaluation processing, and other People Operations functions as needed. 

  • Assist with documentation, communication tracking, and organizational process improvement initiatives. 

  • Maintain organized records, project plans, timelines, and post-event evaluations. 

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and document recommendations for future engagement initiatives and events. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree, Project Management certification, and/or equivalent professional experience or 
  • minimum of 2–5 years of experience in employee engagement, communications, marketing, event planning, community relations, human resources, or a related field preferred. 
  • ​​​​​​​Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain appropriate auto insurance, as required.  
  • No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g. Medicare/Medicaid)
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Communications, Marketing, Event Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • ​​​​​​​Bilingual translation or translation capabilities a plus
SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday - 8:00am - 5:00pm; standard business hours with flexibility to meet service timelines.
SALARY
Wage Band: $ 65,545- $75,375
