Job description

COMPANY OVERVIEW

We are an early-stage AI software company with a fully built product and a clear expansion plan. We are preparing to raise a $3 million SAFE round at a $30 million post-money valuation to support growth, team expansion, go-to-market execution, and strategic partnerships.

We are looking for an experienced fundraising operator who can work directly with the founder to build and manage the investor outreach process. The founder will pitch the product, vision, market, and company. Your role is to help create access, structure the fundraising process, identify the right investors, secure meetings, manage outreach, and keep the raise organized.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Fundraising Chief of Staff with a strong background in startup fundraising, VC outreach, investor relations, SaaS, AI, software startups, or private capital markets.

The ideal candidate has helped companies raise capital before and understands how to build a disciplined fundraising pipeline. You should know how to identify relevant investors, create targeted outreach lists, find warm introduction paths, write investor-facing outreach, schedule calls, manage follow-ups, and help the founder stay organized throughout the raise.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organized, resourceful, persuasive, and comfortable working directly with a founder.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Build a targeted investor pipeline for a $3 million seed-stage SAFE round
  • Identify relevant VCs, micro-VCs, angel investors, AI investors, SaaS investors, family offices, syndicate leads, and strategic investors
  • Research investors based on thesis fit, check size, stage, portfolio, sector focus, and likelihood of interest
  • Create and manage a fundraising CRM or investor tracker
  • Find warm introduction paths through LinkedIn, founder networks, investor networks, advisors, operators, scouts, and mutual connections
  • Draft investor outreach messages, follow-up emails, intro requests, and meeting scheduling messages
  • Help schedule investor calls for the founder
  • Prepare weekly investor pipeline updates
  • Track investor responses, objections, next steps, and follow-up timing
  • Help improve fundraising materials, including pitch deck feedback, investor memo feedback, positioning, and FAQ preparation
  • Help the founder prepare for investor calls by organizing talking points, likely questions, and investor-specific context
  • Maintain a professional, structured, and consistent fundraising process
  • Provide strategic feedback on how to position the company to AI, SaaS, and software investors

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who has direct experience with at least one of the following:

  • Startup fundraising
  • VC outreach
  • SaaS or AI fundraising
  • Investor relations
  • Capital raising support
  • Founder-led fundraising
  • Angel or VC network development
  • Private capital markets
  • Fundraising operations
  • Investor pipeline management

The strongest candidates will have helped founders or companies raise capital before and can show a clear understanding of what it takes to get investor meetings scheduled.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

You may be a great fit if you are:

  • A former startup fundraising consultant
  • A former VC platform, scout, or investor relations professional
  • A former founder or operator who has raised capital
  • A capital markets professional with tech/startup exposure
  • A startup advisor with a strong investor network
  • A fractional Chief of Staff who has supported fundraising
  • A business development professional with VC, angel, or private investor relationships
  • An investor relations professional who understands SaaS, AI, or software companies
  • A highly skilled outreach operator who knows how to get investor meetings booked

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience supporting or executing fundraising efforts for startups, private companies, funds, or investment opportunities
  • Strong understanding of investor outreach and relationship-building
  • Ability to build targeted investor lists and manage a CRM
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to write concise, persuasive investor outreach messages
  • Comfortable working directly with a founder
  • Highly organized and disciplined with follow-up
  • Experience with LinkedIn, CRM systems, email outreach, and investor research
  • Ability to work independently and deliver measurable results

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with AI, SaaS, software, enterprise software, automation, or technology startups
  • Existing relationships with VCs, micro-VCs, angel investors, family offices, syndicate leads, or startup investors
  • Experience helping companies raise seed, pre-seed, bridge, or early-stage capital
  • Experience with SAFE rounds, convertible notes, or early-stage venture fundraising
  • Experience reviewing pitch decks, investor memos, and fundraising narratives
  • Familiarity with tools such as HubSpot, Airtable, Notion, Google Sheets, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Clay, Crunchbase, PitchBook, Affinity, or similar platforms

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION

This role is designed to support a founder-led fundraising process.

The founder will be responsible for pitching the company, presenting the product, explaining the vision, and leading investor conversations. Your role is to help build the investor pipeline, identify the right targets, create outreach, secure meetings, manage follow-ups, and support the overall fundraising process.

We are not looking for someone to blindly blast a pitch deck to a generic investor list. We are looking for someone who can bring structure, strategy, and execution to a targeted fundraising campaign.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

In the first 30 days, success would include:

  • Building a high-quality investor target list of 100 to 200 relevant investors
  • Segmenting investors by VC, micro-VC, angel, family office, syndicate, strategic investor, and advisor network
  • Creating a clear outreach and follow-up process
  • Drafting investor outreach templates
  • Identifying warm introduction paths
  • Helping schedule qualified investor calls
  • Creating a weekly investor pipeline report
  • Improving investor-facing positioning and messaging

In the first 60 to 90 days, success would include:

  • A consistent flow of qualified investor conversations
  • Strong follow-up management after each investor call
  • Better investor materials and objection handling
  • Clear visibility into interested investors, next steps, and potential commitments
  • A disciplined fundraising process that saves the founder time and increases investor access

COMPENSATION

Compensation is flexible and can be discussed based on experience, network, availability, and expected involvement.

We are open to discussing a structure that may include:

  • Project-based compensation
  • Part-time advisory compensation
  • Deferred compensation
  • Equity-based advisory compensation
  • Performance-based milestones where legally appropriate
  • A combination structure based on agreed deliverables

Final compensation will depend on the candidate’s track record, relevant investor access, and scope of work.

QUALIFICATIONS THAT WILL STAND OUT

Please highlight any experience you have with:

  • Raising capital for SaaS, AI, or software companies
  • Securing VC or angel investor meetings
  • Building investor pipelines
  • Managing fundraising CRMs
  • Writing investor outreach emails
  • Working directly with startup founders
  • Supporting seed or pre-seed rounds
  • Helping companies raise $1 million to $10 million
  • Building warm intro strategies
  • Working with AI, automation, enterprise software, or B2B SaaS companies

HOW TO APPLY

Please apply with the following:

  • Your resume or LinkedIn profile
  • A short summary of your fundraising or investor outreach experience
  • Examples of companies, founders, or fundraising campaigns you have supported
  • The types of investors you have experience reaching
  • Any relevant experience with AI, SaaS, software, or venture-backed startups
  • Your preferred compensation structure
  • Your availability and expected weekly time commitment
