Position Overview


The Detailing Manager owns the technical execution of each project from sale through final job issue. This role develops and maintains the Live Scope (the single source of truth for each project ) while directing the detailing process, supporting design and detailing teams, performing final QC, and ensuring all shippers, shop drawings, and E-sheets accurately reflect the approved scope.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an experienced pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) professional who can solve problems, make decisions, and ensure projects are accurate, complete, and production-ready.



Requirements:

Key Responsibilities


•Review sales scopes for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and alignment with project requirements.

•Develop and maintain the Live Scope throughout the project.

•Produce clarifying 2D drawings, including foundation plans, sections, and elevations, as needed.

•Identify and resolve technical conflicts, omissions, and inconsistencies.

•Process change orders and ensure project documentation remains aligned with the approved scope.

•Serve as the primary technical authority throughout the detailing process.

•Lead regular Tekla Structures model reviews and provide technical direction and corrective guidance to detailing teams.

•Perform final Quality Control prior to job issue.

•Issue accurate and complete shippers, shop drawings, and E-sheets.

•Partner with Sales, Project Management, Design, Detailing, and Shop teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale through     production.

•Identify recurring issues and help improve detailing standards, processes, and quality.


What You Bring

•Significant experience with pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB), metal building systems, structural steel, or a related field.

•Deep knowledge of PEMB systems, construction, and detailing practices.

•Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures, specifically for PEMB detailing and model review.

•Strong 2D drafting skills using AutoCAD or BricsCAD.

•Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

•Strong understanding of constructability, fabrication, and erection requirements.

•Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify issues before they become problems.

•Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and documentation skills.

•Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
