Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to support individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide peer support services, sharing lived experiences to offer encouragement and guidance.
  • Assist individuals in setting and achieving recovery-oriented goals related to housing, disability benefits, sobriety, and mental health management.
  • Offer companionship, emotional support, and mentorship to individuals facing challenges.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, and errands.
  • Facilitate access to community resources, healthcare services, and social support systems.
  • Document services provided in accordance with agency and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, case managers, and community organizations.
Qualifications:

  • Must have personal experience with mental health or substance use recovery.
  • Must be a certified Peer Support Specialist.
  • Ability to establish trust and build relationships with clients.
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within Durham, Henderson, and Chapel Hill.
