PLAs are typically trained in communication and teaching strategies to effectively assist their classmates. This role not only helps other students succeed but also provides PLAs with valuable leadership and teaching experience.

To thrive as a Peer Learning Assistant, you need a strong grasp of subject matter, effective tutoring techniques, and typically a solid academic record in the relevant discipline. Familiarity with learning management systems, online collaboration platforms, and tutoring resources is often required. Strong communication, patience, and approachability help you connect with students and facilitate their learning.
