Job description

You’re the first smile every customer sees and the warmest welcome every guest receives. As Peepers’ Retail Concierge, you set the tone for an experience our customers tell their friends about — and a workplace our team is proud to walk into every morning.

About the Role

Based at our Michigan City, Indiana headquarters, the Retail Concierge is the first point of contact for retail customers, vendors, contractors, and visitors. You’ll create one-of-a-kind shopping experiences, keep our retail floor and reception area looking sharp, and bring a vibrant, can-do energy to everything from greeting a guest to planning a Business After Hours event. This role is fully on-site — it cannot be performed remotely.

What You’ll OwnCustomer Experience & Sales
  • Greet every customer with a bubbly, welcoming attitude and a genuine sense of hospitality.
  • Guide shoppers through a oneofakind Peepers experience — from frame selection to checkout.
  • Build deep product knowledge and use it to make confident, helpful recommendations.
  • Post pointofpurchase signage so promotions are always onbrand and onpoint.
  • Retail Floor & Inventory
  • Manage retail store inventory, including restocking and organizing frames.
  • Keep lenses and frames clean and displayready throughout the day.
  • Maintain the reception area: empty trash, stock the refrigerator, clean shelving and mirrors, vacuum as needed.
  • Open and close the space each day — blinds, lights, and a quick walkthrough.
  • Shovel and salt the entry sidewalk in winter to keep customers safe.
  • Events & Hospitality
  • Plan and execute retail store events, including small group parties, personal shopping experiences, and Business After Hours.
  • Partner with the Office & Culture Manager to bring company events to life.
  • Maintain the visitor signin sheet and verify scheduled appointments.
  • Operations & Logistics
  • Receive and process employee Rx orders.
  • Process “no charge” orders per CEO or leadership request.
  • Receive and deliver mail and packages: outgoing to the DC by 10:00 a.m. daily; incoming distributed before end of day.
  • Shred company paperwork as needed and deliver shreds to our local Humane
  • Society partner.

  • Act as a “runner” when the team needs it — lunch pickups, swag pickups, office or party supply runs.
  • Who You Are

You light up a room, sweat the small details, and treat every customer like a guest in your own home. You bring the kind of energy that makes a team better just by being on it.

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A natural with people — warm, professional, and quick to build rapport.
  • Excellent at juggling competing priorities without losing your cool.
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational, timemanagement, and projectmanagement skills.
  • Confident with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and able to learn our inhouse systems within 60 days of hire.
  • Solid sales instincts and a customerservice mindset with great negotiation skills.
  • Maintains a positive, vibrant attitude, a professional appearance, and excellent etiquette and communication.
  • Key Competencies

Initiative You see what needs doing and do it — no one has to ask twice.

Communication You speak, write, and listen with clarity, warmth, and care.

Personal Leadership You hold yourself to a high standard and bring others up with you.

Company & Product Knowledge You know our story and our product cold, and you love sharing both.

Execution You finish what you start — on time, on brand, and on quality.

Systems Knowledge You learn new tools quickly and use them well.
