PM Pediatric Care is seeking a child and adolescent psychiatrist in the psychopharmacology role to join our virtual Behavioral Health Program. This unique opportunity will provide comprehensive behavioral health for the common conditions seen in child psychiatry such as depression, anxiety, ADHD and conduct disorders in an extended virtual model. Currently, this posting is for a per-diem or part-time position with opportunity for growth.Description
  • Work as part of the virtual behavioral health team, providing patient services usingevidence basedmedicine

  • Diagnose and assess mental/behavioral health disordersfor pediatric,adolescentand young adult patients; formulate differential diagnoses

  • Demonstrateappropriate clinicaljudgement in assessment and treatment, following established clinical care guidelines

  • Collaborate and communicate with therapist teamand medical leadershipto discuss patient treatment plans

  • Order and interpretdiagnostic testswhen appropriate

  • Conduct patient history and initial evaluations of incoming patients

  • Prescribe medications as part of the patient'streatmentregimeasallowedbylicense

  • Provide both medication management and counseling for patients

  • Educate patient and parenton medication side effects, risk/benefits and proper usage of new medication and reasonable outcome expectations of medications

  • Establish andmodifypatient treatment plan based on clinical assessmentand re-assessment with screening tools

  • Appropriately document each patient visit in the electronic medical record, including subjective and objective data, assessments, treatment plan, and other documentation as necessary

  • Communicate patient'splanofcarewithbehavioral health team andpatient's primary care physician

  • Workwith members of the healthcare team in educating the patients of their medical care

  • Continuallyupdateclinical knowledge and skills through consultation, formal and informaleducationand review of literature for the benefit of themselves as well as for the healthcare team

  • Provideappropriate referralswhen necessary

  • Provide supervision to psychiatric nurse practitioners

Qualifications
  • MD/DO withappropriate licensingin states prescribing

  • Experience with prior psychopharmacology management

  • Board eligible or board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical andbehavioral standards of conduct

  • Ability to collaborate with strong skills working with a team

  • Experienceworking specificallywith children and adolescents

  • Valid DEA Licensein states prescribing(NY or NJ)
