Overview
WakeMed Physician Practices is a multi‑specialty group with nearly 500 physicians. We are seeking two board‑certified or board‑eligible pediatric neurologists to join WakeMed Children’s Pediatric Specialists in Raleigh, NC. The positions will establish a pediatric neurology division to support the Children’s Hospital. The initial team will consist of two pediatric neurologists, a telehealth neurologist, an advanced practice provider, a nurse, and a medical assistant. The physicians will provide comprehensive neurological care, including outpatient consultation, inpatient consultative care, and subspecialty follow‑up at WakeMed Children’s Hospital and its satellite locations.
The outpatient practice locations include Raleigh, North Raleigh, Apex, and Clayton with clinic hours Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Initially we will staff the Raleigh location and one satellite location and add additional sites as the division grows. Inpatient call will be rotated among the two staff neurologists and the telemedicine neurologist.
The WakeMed Physician is responsible for providing high quality clinical care to patients in the division, supervising residents, medical students, and/or advanced practice providers, ensuring accurate coding and compliance, and handling general administrative duties. The physician reports to the Director of the assigned division and supports WakeMed Physician Practices’ mission and values.
Licensure
Licensed Medical Physician and Board Certification in Pediatric Neurology required.
Education
Doctorate in Medicine (MD) required.
Experience
Fellowship, internship, or residency in pediatric neurology or related area required.
Experience and Duties
• Provide outpatient neurology care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of pediatric neurological disorders. • Deliver inpatient consultative services and subspecialty follow‑up at WakeMed Children’s Hospital. • Participate in telemedicine neurology consultations. • Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and advanced practice providers. • Maintain appropriate coding, documentation, and corporate compliance. • Contribute to administrative duties as directed by the division director.
