**Internal Medicine Program Director Opening in Georgia**
Located in Valdosta, Georgia
**About the Position**
A leadership opportunity is available for a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician to serve as Program Director for a Graduate Medical Education (GME) Internal Medicine residency program. This role combines administrative leadership, academic oversight, and clinical practice, with responsibility for maintaining a high-quality educational environment aligned with ACGME standards while supporting the mission of expanding care in South and rural Georgia.
**Leadership Responsibilities**
-Oversee program administration, operations, and educational activities
-Lead resident recruitment, selection, evaluation, and promotion
-Supervise residents and ensure high-quality patient-centered education
-Maintain compliance with ACGME and institutional requirements
-Direct Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) and Annual Program Evaluation
-Develop and implement curriculum and continuous improvement initiatives
-Mentor faculty and support leadership development
-Ensure competency-based training and readiness for independent practice
**Clinical and Academic Role**
-Maintain active clinical practice alongside administrative duties
-Provide teaching and scholarly activity within the residency program
-Ensure high-quality didactic and clinical education across all training sites
