Job Summary
The Residential Roof Advisor is the primary driver of new residential roofing revenue. You will prospect, qualify, and close homeowners for roof replacements and repairs-guiding customers from initial inspection through contract signing and coordination with production. Success in this role depends on expert product knowledge, consultative selling, and disciplined follow-through on leads generated by canvassing, marketing campaigns, referrals, and self-sourced outreach.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Generation & Prospecting
    • Knock targeted neighborhoods, attend home-shows, and leverage digital platforms to identify homeowner prospects.
    • Respond promptly to inbound inquiries from marketing and referrals.
    • Log all activity in AccuLynx and maintain accurate lead status.
  • Consultative Sales Process
    • Conduct on-site roof inspections, document findings (photos, measurements, core tests).
    • Educate homeowners on roofing systems (e.g., CertainTeed Landmark Pro, ventilation, underlayment, code requirements).
    • Present repair vs. replacement options, financing, and warranty packages; build value over price.
  • Proposal & Closing
    • Prepare detailed proposals and digital presentations (Roofr/AccuLynx).
    • Negotiate terms, overcome objections, and secure signed contracts with appropriate payment schedules.
    • Coordinate insurance claim paperwork when applicable, ensuring compliance with state statutes.
  • Pipeline & CRM Management
    • Maintain 50-75 active opportunities with clear next steps.
    • Update stages, notes, and documents in AccuLynx daily.
    • Hit weekly activity KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) for appointments, inspections completed and closes.
  • Customer Experience
    • Set clear expectations for project timelines and next steps.
    • Hand off accurate job information to production and remain point of contact until final payment.
    • Secure contract deposits, progress draws, and final balances; issue receipts/invoices, update AccuLynx, and coordinate with accounting on any delinquent or short-paid invoices.
    • Request reviews and referrals upon project completion.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Share market intel with marketing and canvassing teams.
    • Attend daily huddles and weekly sales meetings; participate in ongoing training.
    • Uphold company brand standards and ethical sales practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of direct-to-consumer sales experience; home-improvement or roofing preferred
  • Strong understanding of residential roofing components, installation methods, and insurance claim basics (training provided)
  • Proficient with AccuLynx (or similar CRM), SalesRabbit, and mobile inspection apps (training provided)
  • Persuasive communicator with excellent presentation and negotiation abilities
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to manage a high-volume pipeline
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, ability to pass drug screen and background/MVR check

Physical & Technical Requirements
  • Comfortable climbing 30 ft ladders and working at heights up to 50 ft for roof inspections
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs of equipment (ladders, tablets, marketing materials)
  • Proficiency with drones, EagleView/Roofr, and measurement tools (preferred)
  • Willingness to work evenings and Saturdays during peak canvassing or homeowner availability
