PE/M&A Associate [Mid-Level / Senior] @ Global Transactional Platform

Whistler Partners

Manhattan, NY

$265K - $390K/yr

Job description

Overview

Whistler Partners is partnering with a global corporate practice looking to add a mid-level to senior PE/M&A associate in New York. The group advises public and private clients across M&A, private equity, venture capital, securities offerings, securities law compliance, and broader general corporate matters. The core need is a 4th–6th year associate who can take real ownership on complex transactions, produce client-ready deal documents, and help drive matters from diligence through closing.

Why this role?

This is a strong opportunity for a corporate associate who wants a broader transactional platform without losing the sophistication of complex deal work. The practice offers exposure across M&A, private equity, investment agreements, venture capital, securities, and general corporate matters, giving associates a wider deal mix than a narrow sponsor-only role. The team is looking for someone who can be a true deal-team driver: drafting, negotiating, coordinating work streams, and stepping into meaningful responsibility on active matters. For someone who wants high-quality transactional work, a global platform, and a role with more ownership across the full lifecycle of a deal, this is a compelling next step.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent public and private clients in M&A, private equity, venture capital, securities offerings, securities law compliance, and general corporate matters.
  • Draft and negotiate acquisition agreements, equity documents, investment agreements, and related transaction materials.
  • Serve as a key member of deal teams on complex corporate transactions.
  • Manage transaction workstreams from due diligence through closing.
  • Prepare client-ready transaction documents and coordinate with clients, partners, and deal teams.
  • Support complex M&A and private equity transactions with increasing independence.

Top Requirements

  • 4–6 years of corporate transactional experience.
  • Strong background in M&A and private equity transactions.
  • Hands-on drafting and negotiating experience for complex deal documents.
  • Experience with acquisition, equity, investment, and related transaction agreements.
  • Ability to run key aspects of transactions from diligence through closing.
  • Experience with venture capital, securities offerings, securities law compliance, or general corporate matters is a plus.
  • Strong judgment, drafting skills, and ability to produce client-ready work.

Compensation

  • $265,000–$390,000 base salary, depending on experience and other relevant factors.

TL;DR

Global transactional platform hiring a 4th–6th year PE/M&A associate in New York. Strong fit for someone with hands-on M&A and private equity experience who wants complex deal work, broader corporate exposure, client-ready drafting responsibility, and real ownership from diligence through closing.
