PCSI seeks a motivated, friendly, and seasoned HVAC Controls Technician to join our team. This role will deliver the highest-quality service for our customers. This position is at one location, is part of an 8-person HVAC shop, is part of a 70-person project team, and executes facility operations and maintenance (O&M) and repair contracts for 55 buildings totaling nearly 2 million square feet on a military installation. The ideal candidate should have experience working with a diverse work group, including Veterans and individuals with disabilities.

What You'll Do as a HVAC Controls Technician:
Shift: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday
Rate of Pay: $52.65 per hour plus Health & Welfare (union shop) annual raises
  • Monitor and operate centralized and local HVAC control systems using the Utility Monitoring and Control System (UMCS) Automation System. Monitoring includes occupancy schedules, system alarms, abnormal conditions.
  • Demonstrated experience working with the Niagara/Tridium platform to control/monitor building systems. Preferred specific experience on LON, Honeywell, BACnet controllers. In addition, desired experience working with proprietary building software (Trane, Johnson Controls, Siemens, etc.) and their respective subcontractors.
  • Experience in programming related to wire sheet, relay, and PLC Logic.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC control systems, including both centrally controlled and locally controlled equipment.
  • Analyze utility consumption data and prepare reports to identify trends and opportunities for improving building performance, system reliability, and energy efficiency.
  • Ability to learn HVAC equipment components, such as compressors, condensers, heat pump regulators, fluid & refrigerant gas line valves, meters, and gauges, digital controlled devices, hydronic heating and cooling, and economizer systems
  • Complies with all industry, company, and government regulations, safety standards, cybersecurity requirements and facility operating procedures.
  • On-call for after-hours emergency calls.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years HVAC and/or Controls experience (heavier weight in controls).
  • Required Niagara N4 certification.
  • Level 2 Niagara Certification is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and appliances required for installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with maintenance personnel, subcontractors, and government representatives.
  • Strong computer aptitude with demonstrated proficiency in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications with the ability to learn new technologies.
  • Able to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.

Working Conditions
  • Successfully pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background check, and motor vehicle report.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance, including a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) investigation.
  • Maintain valid State of Michigan driver's license and remain insurable to operate Company vehicles.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
