First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel opening for a highly adaptive Medical-Surgical / Telemetry (MS/Tele) Registered Nurse (RN) in Rochester, New York. Operating within a high-volume, 528-bed tertiary care hospital, this specialized 4500 overflow and complex care unit offers a stable 36-hour daytime schedule. 💰 PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE
- Weekly Gross: $2,120.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,400.00
- Hourly W2 Rate: $20.00/hr
- Overtime Rate: $30.00/hr
- Based on 36 regular hours weekly.
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Day shifts, 3x12-Hours (07:00 AM - 19:00 PM). Block scheduling is not available for this role.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: High-volume care setting with typical ratios running 1:6 (can occasionally fluctuate between 1:5 and 1:7 based on floor census).
- Weekend Coverage: Rotating every other weekend (EOW) required.
- EMR Charting System: Epic experience is a hard requirement.
- Clinical Scope & Case Mix: Fast-paced complex care unit managing general medicine, orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, surgical drains, and complex long-term inpatient care.
- Core Responsibilities: On-the-unit telemetry monitoring, rhythm interpretation/dysrhythmia management, pacemakers (temporary/permanent), blood product administration, Heparin protocols, thrombolytic agents, and PCA pumps. Managed care includes central line/PICC management, IV therapy, starting IVs, phlebotomy, wound care/wound vacs, and feeding tube management.
- Respiratory Flow: Supports High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management, and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac).
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs on the bottom, with navy blue or white scrub tops.

- Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience as an RN. Prior charge nurse experience is required.
- Licensure: Valid New York State nursing license MUST be active and fully in-hand at the exact time of submission—no exceptions.
