Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead IT Deployment Technician for a 3-5 month contract to lead and support a large-scale onsite hardware refresh project in a hospital environment. The project consists of approximately 2,500 in-place device upgrades and requires a hands-on technical lead who can coordinate deployment activities, provide direction to other technicians, troubleshoot issues, and ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule.


Candidates MUST have previous experience leading an IT deployment project or team of technicians.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide day-to-day direction to onsite deployment technicians.
  • Coordinate deployment workflow, assignments, staging, installation and completion of approximately 2,500 device upgrades.
  • Serve as the primary onsite technical resource and assist with escalations.
  • Deploy Lenovo M70q Gen6 thick clients and Lenovo Neo 50q G4 TIO Linux/IGEL thin clients.
  • Transport and stage computers, components and peripherals for deployment.
  • Disconnect legacy equipment and install/configure replacement devices.
  • Verify network connectivity and basic device functionality.
  • Reconnect monitors, peripherals and existing workstation equipment.
  • Ensure professional cable management and consistent installation standards.
  • Track deployment progress and communicate issues or blockers to project leadership.
  • Move retired equipment to designated storage areas.
  • Maintain clean work areas and properly dispose of packaging/deployment materials.


Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading an IT deployment project or technician team REQUIRED.
  • Strong desktop/workstation deployment and hardware refresh experience.
  • Experience with large-scale, multi-device deployment projects.
  • Strong PC hardware, peripherals and basic network troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues independently.
  • Strong communication, organization and leadership skills.
  • Hospital/healthcare IT experience strongly preferred.
  • IGEL/thin-client experience is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable lifting, moving and deploying computer equipment throughout the workday.
  • Reliable transportation and own vehicle required.
  • Must be flexible to accommodate potential 6:00 AM–3:00 PM or 4:00 PM–9:00 PM shifts if required.
