Public Agency Resources (PARS), a subsidiary of Willdan Group Inc., currently has an opening for a part-time Code Enforcement Officer in the Berkeley, CA area. The qualified individuals will be responsible for Conducting field investigations regarding possible violations of a variety of City/County codes and ordinances, and related state codes including zoning, nuisance, property maintenance, housing, transportation, and animal and business license/permits, health and sanitation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enforcing local and state codes related to public health, safety, and welfare.
  • Investigates and resolves complaints involving general nuisances, substandard housing conditions, and zoning violations. Conducts site inspections, document findings, and works with property owners to achieve compliance through education, notices, and enforcement actions.
  • Coordinates with other departments and agencies as needed and ensures adherence to applicable municipal, state, and federal regulations.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Current PC 832 certification.
  • Certification as a Code Enforcement Officer from CACEO or similar organization.
  • 1 or more years' experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 1 years municipal experience.
