About Innovative Care Pharmacy:Our Innovative Care Pharmacy team is dedicated to supporting biopharma pioneers in delivering advanced therapies to patients who need them most. From clinical development to commercialization, our experts partner with clients to ensure therapies reach the hands of patients who need them most. We have processed over 30,000 CGT orders and support more than 425 active sites of care administering CGTs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the payer contracting strategy for Cardinal Health's specialty pharmacy business, with a focus on building a national payer network from the ground up
  • Identify, cultivate, and own strategic relationships for medical and pharmacy benefit payers: commercial payers, PBMs, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicaid managed care organizations, and other payer stakeholders
  • Lead negotiations and execution of specialty pharmacy participation agreements, reimbursement contracts, and other payer arrangements that support business growth
  • Own a payer contracting pipeline and deliver against established performance goals, including contracted lives, executed agreements, network expansion, and revenue growth objectives
  • Serve as the relationship owner for key payer accounts, conducting regular business reviews
  • Partner with Advanced Therapy Solutions, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure successful contract implementation and ongoing account performance
  • Monitor market, reimbursement, and network trends and provide strategic recommendations to strengthen Cardinal Health's payer access strategy and competitive position

Qualifications:

  • Education:BA, BS or equivalent experience in related field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in specialty payer contracting, PBM payer relations, specialty pharmacy business development, and/or healthcare account management preferred
  • Demonstrated success negotiating and executing payer contracts and specialty pharmacy participation agreements for limited and exclusive drug agreements
  • Proven track record of developing strategic payer relationships and delivering measurable business growth through account development and contract execution
  • Established relationships with payer and PBM executives and a demonstrated ability to leverage those relationships to secure new contracts and strategic partnerships
  • Experience working within specialty pharmacy, provider, health system, payer, PBM, or related healthcare organizations
  • Knowledge of specialty pharmacy reimbursement, payer network management, and limited-distribution drug (LDD) models. The focus of this role is on LDD and exclusive distribution contracts for advanced specialty drugs and cell and gene therapies (CGT)
  • Strong contract negotiation, business development, account management, and executive communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a highly entrepreneurial, growth-oriented environment and achieve defined performance targets
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and make sound recommendations
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 60%)
