Job Description

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment related to the gelatin process. This position supports production reliability while complying with all safety, food safety, and quality standards.

Employees selected for the Maintenance Technician position will be placed on a 60 working day probationary period to determine skills and receive training in safety, boiler operations, refrigeration operations and SOP’s, power distribution system, process operations, SAP, food safety, forklift, and critical equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preform routine, preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
  • Develop general knowledge of utilities operation and upkeep particular to PB Leiner.
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • 2-year technical degree or 2+ years in an industrial or automotive maintenance.
  • Experience with pumps, valves, steam, refrigeration, and electrical systems
  • Experience with PLC/ instrumentation, servos/ actuators, and specialty sensors
  • Formal ammonia refrigeration training
  • Have or show the ability to have good working knowledge of general mechanical systems.
  • Basic Welding Knowledge is preferred
  • Proficient in basic computer use.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Meet physical requirements for the job.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to work alone or as a team
