Job description

Payroll & Benefits Manager

Location: Kettering, OH & West Chester, OH
Compensation: Competitive Salary + Bonus + Benefits & 401(k) Day 1


We're looking for an experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to lead payroll and benefits administration across multiple U.S. locations.


This is a hands-on role for someone who knows multi-state payroll, ADP Workforce Now, payroll compliance, payroll taxes, employee benefits, and 401(k) administration.


What You'll Do


Payroll — Primary Focus

  • Manage accurate, timely payroll for multiple locations.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

  • Manage payroll taxes, reporting, reconciliations, and year-end processing.

  • Review and resolve payroll discrepancies, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, PTO, overtime, and pay changes.

  • Partner with Finance and facility leaders on payroll reporting and issues.

  • Serve as the payroll subject matter expert.

  • Improve payroll processes and ADP Workforce Now utilization.


Benefits Administration

  • Administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other employee benefits.

  • Manage benefit deductions and invoice reconciliation.

  • Partner with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators.

  • Support FMLA, ACA, COBRA, leave administration, and 401(k).

  • Coordinate Open Enrollment and employee benefit communications.

  • Resolve employee payroll and benefits questions.


Systems & Reporting

  • Serve as the primary payroll and benefits resource for ADP Workforce Now.

  • Maintain accurate payroll and benefits data.

  • Prepare payroll, benefits, and management reports.

  • Support audits, compliance, and process improvements.


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field.

  • 3+ years of multi-location or multi-state payroll experience.

  • 3+ years of employee benefits administration experience.

  • Advanced ADP Workforce Now experience.

  • Strong payroll tax and year-end processing experience.

  • Knowledge of ACA, COBRA, FMLA, 401(k), payroll compliance, and leave administration.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage confidential information and strict payroll deadlines.

  • Occasional travel required.
