Job description

ssociate Payroll Specialists at 937 Payroll serve hundreds of area business owners with their human capital management needs impacting thousands of employees. To keep the 937 community running smoothly, Payroll Specialists respond to emails, take phone calls, reply to texts, enter payroll data, and research technology solutions: we answer questions, offer advice, troubleshoot problems, process payroll, make technology suggestions, respond quickly and put the client first. We operate based on a hospitality approach and believe that the client's needs always come first.
As an Associate Payroll Specialist, a typical day might include the following:
  • Congratulate a Mexican restaurant owner on opening her new location.
  • Call the manager of a technology startup, and walk him through job postings.
  • Set up direct deposit for an employee of a dental office.
  • Enter the payroll data for a car wash.
  • Text a lawncare company owner, a reply to his question regarding time tracking.
  • Brainstorm operational process improvements with the Vice Present of 937 Payroll.

This job might be for you if:
  • You enjoy solving problems. You love taking on difficult challenges and finding solutions. You don't get flustered easily. If you don't know the answer, you will research until you find it.
  • You like helping people and putting others first. You get a sense of satisfaction in knowing you helped make someone else's day better. You are patient and willing to listen. Teaching someone something new makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
  • You pay attention to the details. As far as you're concerned, anything worth doing is worth doing right, every single time. You stay focused, pay attention to detail, and nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
  • You think on your feet. You like learning new things, and you can learn quickly. When things change, you know how to roll with the punches.
  • You communicate clearly. You write well. You speak eloquently. You have a thirst for knowledge. New technology is exciting. You can explain just about anything to anyone, and you're comfortable communicating in writing and on the phone.
  • You are motivated and driven. You volunteer for new challenges without waiting to be asked. You're going to take ownership of the time you spend with us and truly make a difference.
  • To land this job, you need to have 1-3 years of experience helping other people solve problems. It doesn't need to be traditional customer service experience: we just want to see that you are going to be able to think on your feet and communicate clearly with business owners.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (Within the First 12 Months of Employment)

Compensation:
  • Hourly Rate + Additional Pay for Certifications, Overtime & an Annual Bonus
  • Paid Time Off, Major Holidays, Floating Holidays
  • Hybrid Work Model (20% In Office / 80% Remote) - subject to change
  • Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance (90% Individual Coverage)
  • 401k (Retirement) Employer Match (4%)
