Job description

TITLE: Payroll Specialist

LOCATION: Hybrid in Alsip, IL (3 days per week onsite)

COMP RANGE: $71,000- 107,000/year

Griffith Foods is hiring a Payroll Specialist to support payroll for US and Canada hourly and salaried workforce for all business units, including reporting and analysis, system maintenance and functional support, as well as analysis of payroll data to support general ledger activities.

As a Payroll Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing all activities necessary to process payroll and maintain the payroll system (Workday) for US and Canada, both salaried and hourly.
  • Preparing and processing of US & Canada biweekly payrolls, including multi-state US payroll administration.
  • Create and upload spreadsheets into Workday Payroll.
  • Look for trends and opportunities to improve processes and add value to programs and services.
  • Work closely with all employees, mid and upper-level management to secure approvals and gather information for the completion of payroll.
  • Support US or Canada payroll managers to gather information needed by auditors for payroll, retirement plans and workers compensation.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in payroll, AP, AR or related finance area.
  • Basic understanding of accounting rules related to payroll.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Alsip, IL 3 days per week (Typically Mon - Wed).
  • Current location within a commutable distance to Alsip, IL. Relocation support is NOT available for this role.

Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
