We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to manage accurate and timely payroll operations for a mid-sized workforce in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position supports end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring employee pay, deductions, and garnishment activity are handled in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, solid payroll knowledge, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Process full-cycle payroll, ensuring each pay run is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Review timesheets, earnings, deductions, and adjustments to confirm payroll data is complete and correct before final submission.
• Administer payroll-related deductions, including garnishments, tax withholdings, and benefit contributions, in accordance with legal and company requirements.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies by working with employees, managers, and internal partners to correct issues promptly.
• Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation with a high level of accuracy, organization, and confidentiality.
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits, reconciliations, and other payroll-related reviews as needed.
• Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and apply updates to payroll processing practices when necessary.
• Experience managing payroll in a detail-oriented setting with responsibility for end-to-end payroll processing.
• Hands-on experience handling garnishments, deductions, and related payroll adjustments.
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance requirements and accuracy standards.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive information discreetly.
• Proficiency in reviewing payroll data, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues efficiently.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to meet recurring deadlines.
