Base pay in range will be determined by applicant's skills and experience. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company's 401(k) program.

Responsibilities
Oversees and completes payroll processing for all associates, ensuring hours and wages are accurate and timely. Completes ADP and bank file transfers. Obtains validation and approval for off-cycle checks and payroll adjustments. Completes weekly audits of payroll files.
  1. Develops, modifies and runs HR/Payroll system queries or interfaces and verifies accuracy and integrity of data prior to distribution. Executes weekly HR/Payroll system calculation processes, queries and interfaces.
  2. Performs pay period audit of selected criterion to ensure accurateness and thoroughness of hours in time and attendance system. Follows up with associates to clarify or obtain information as necessary.
  3. Reviews system calculated wages, taxes and deductions, as necessary, for correctness each pay period.
  4. Transmits payroll files to third party vendors for print processing. Oversees and completes bank file transfer activities.
  5. Works with Internal Audit to ensure all Payroll controls are being properly followed and met.
  6. Assists in completion and submission of wage verifications. Assists in processing and entering direct deposit information.
  7. Obtains validation and approval for off-cycle checks. Processes manual checks in accordance with company policies.
  8. Obtains validation and approval for payroll adjustments. Enters current and/or prior pay period adjustments, bonuses, PTO requests, short-term disability payments or other manual adjustments in HR/Payroll system.
  9. Provides support and individualized training to associates on manual or automated time and attendance system as needed.
  10. Assists management in identifying workflow process and procedure improvements, recommending changes as needed.
  11. Processes and enters garnishment orders in HR/Payroll system.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Associate degree in business, accounting, or related field and three to five years related high volume payroll experience; or equivalent education and experience. Must possess organizational and analytical skills and ability to handle multi-tasking and work under pressure to meet deadlines. PeopleSoft experience preferred but not required. CPP preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

Has a basic knowledge of the organization in order to answer basic questions. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rates, ratios, percents, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must have demonstrated outstanding competency in the payroll coordinator position. Working knowledge of Web-based applications, Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
