Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for executing comprehensive payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of standard and off-cycle payroll. This role is the final checkpoint before payroll releases by validating data integrity, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining SOX compliance. The incumbent serves as a payroll subject matter expert, providing policy interpretation, advising on complex inquiries, and driving continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and generate standard payroll cycles and off-cycle payroll for the entire organization, including drivers and office staff inside and outside of the United States
  • Verify payroll data accuracy through edit checks, troubleshoot errors, and resolve discrepancies in coordination with HRIS, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
  • Maintain payroll process documentation and internal controls with a strong emphasis on Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance
  • Provide expertise on payroll calculations and system functionality, perform manual calculations when needed, and offer initial troubleshooting support
  • Monitor payroll calendar, provide input for planning, and ensure adherence to timelines and organizational requirements
  • Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and guide cross-functional teams on complex issues, including garnishments and tax matters requiring policy interpretation
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and reduce costs; compile and deliver payroll-related reports and insights regularly and on demand
  • Assist with payroll audits and documentation within HRIS and payroll systems
  • May assist with onboarding new team members as needed

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2 years of Payroll or related experience or military equivalent
AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences:
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively through various mediums
  • Ability to determine the root cause of issues and create solutions
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Excel)
  • Knowledge of pay regulations
  • Experience with payroll system
  • Experience with Source-to-Gross payroll processing solutions
  • Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Ability to efficiently manage time
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Business Management, Finance, or related field with 3 years of Payroll or related experience or military equivalent
  • Payroll associated certifications
  • Knowledge of approaches and techniques for recognizing and resolving operational or process problems
  • Knowledge of payroll calculations and processes

Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
