Job description

Company Description

About Nearmap

Property intelligence is reshaping how the world understands the built environment, and Nearmap is driving that. We put powerful aerial imagery, AI-driven analytics, and geospatial tools into the hands of the people who plan, build, insure, and govern the places we all live and work. Our technology turns property uncertainty into decisive action, and our culture brings out the best in the people who build it.
We move fast, we care about craft, and we're proud of what we're building. If you're energized by turning hard problems into real-world impact, we'd love to meet you.

Job Description

About the RoleΒ

Location: Fully remote within the continental United States.Β

Government agencies do work that genuinely matters - assessing property fairly, planning safer communities, responding when disaster hits. As Solutions Product Manager, Government, you'll own how Nearmap shows up for that work: setting the direction for our government product solutions, getting close to what customers actually need, staying a step ahead of the market and competition, and shaping that insight into requirements that create real value for the people relying on us.

Working in close partnership with other senior product leaders, you'll sharpen existing offerings and help grow what we already do well for government customers, teaming up regularly with sales, engineering, and marketing to make sure every initiative is well-defined and actually lands.

This role blends strategic ownership with hands-on execution: you'll gather insights, write requirements that stick, drive delivery priorities, and track performance - all while building the kind of deep expertise in geospatial technology and location intelligence that others will come to rely on, alongside a team that will back you up along the way. The focus is on growing and refining what's already working, not building new product lines from scratch, so strong execution and stakeholder management matter more here than 0-to-1 product creation.

Key Responsibilities

You'llΒ own the Product Owner role for the delivery stream, which means:Β

  • Partnering with other senior product leaders to define product requirements and priorities for Government solutionsΒ
  • Translating customer and business needs into clear, actionable requirements and acceptance criteria the technical delivery team can run withΒ
  • Owning product metrics and turning them into insights the broader product org can act onΒ
  • Digging into call recordings and other signals to surface insight for the wider teamΒ
  • Leading backlog grooming, priority refinement, and requirements alignment with the delivery teamΒ

You'llΒ become the authority people rely on:Β

  • Build deepΒ expertiseΒ across government use cases -Β you'llΒ come to know customer workflows, pain points, and industry-specific challenges inside and outΒ
  • Develop real command of critical areas like property assessment and management, land development, public safety, portfolio/asset management, and disaster response, while staying ready to buildΒ expertiseΒ in whatever comes nextΒ

You'llΒ build relationships thatΒ matter, becauseΒ this job runs on them:Β

  • Regularly connecting with Sales, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to surfaceΒ and reviewΒ customer pain points, opportunities, and obstacles to selling or upsellingΒ
  • Talking directly with customers to understand how they use and experienceΒ Nearmap'sΒ products, and spotting opportunities to solveΒ new problemsΒ or upsellΒ
  • Sharing what you learn withΒ NearmapΒ stakeholders in ways that spark real action and improvementΒ
  • Connecting with ecosystem partners - technology platforms, channel partners, analysts, media - to help raise Nearmap's profileΒ
  • Listening to sales and customer success calls to build a real understanding of what customers care aboutΒ

UpholdΒ Nearmap'sΒ values andΒ comply withΒ company standards and all local statutory requirements:Β

  • Complies withΒ all local legislative requirements.Β
  • Adheres to company guidelines and the corporate Code of Conduct.Β
  • WhereΒ appropriate keepsΒ up to date with legislative requirements.Β
  • Acts in an ethical way when dealing with company assets and other people.Β
Qualifications

Here'sΒ whatΒ we'reΒ looking for in the person who steps into this seat:Β

Experience

  • 5-10+ years of experience in government - ideally within a government geospatial office - with real project or product leadership experience under your belt, including hands-on experience with government procurement and how local, state, and federal entities work together
  • Experience with geospatial data and how it's used in government is a big plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Skills

  • You can build,Β validate, and pitch a compelling business case in plain language - fast and thoroughlyΒ
  • You'reΒ comfortable with geospatial technology and remote sensing, and ideally know your way around Esri, Autodesk, or Bentley productsΒ
  • You write requirements sharp enough for a technical team to run withΒ immediatelyΒ
  • You haveΒ a track recordΒ of making things happen - juggling multiple priorities and stakeholders while still hitting your deadlinesΒ
  • You communicate clearly and confidently across a cross-functional teamΒ
  • You can pull real insight out of messy, diverse data

Personal Attributes

  • A strong communicator - in writing, in conversation, and visually
  • Commercially sharp and genuinely energized by driving revenue, with sharp judgment on prioritizing competing needs within an established product line
  • Analytical and personable - equally at home with data and with people across every engineering discipline
