ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Solution Adoption Consultant serves as the primary client-facing consultant for Waystar solution configuration, workflow design, and implementation execution during the implementation lifecycle. This role partners directly with health systems and hospital organizations to support the adoption and optimization of patient financial workflows and technology solutions.
The ideal candidate brings strong patient financial experience within healthcare systems or hospitals, including an understanding of operational and technical workflows that support patient payments, reimbursement, reconciliation, cash management, and financial system integration. This individual will work closely with operational leaders, IT teams, revenue cycle stakeholders, and executive leadership to ensure successful solution adoption and long-term client success.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Waystar solution implementations supporting patient financial operations within healthcare systems and hospitals.
  • Lead implementation and workflow design discussions focused on patient payment operations, reconciliation processes, cash management activities, financial posting workflows, merchant onboarding, and healthcare financial system integrations.
  • Partner with hospital and health system stakeholders across Patient Financial Services (PFS), revenue cycle, treasury, accounting, and IT departments to ensure successful implementation and adoption of Waystar solutions.
  • Consult with clients on operational and technical workflows related to payment processing, healthcare financial transactions, general ledger integration, API connectivity, and data exchange processes.
  • Support integration design, testing, validation, and issue resolution activities between Waystar solutions and client healthcare systems, including EMR and ERP platforms.
  • Establish trusted relationships with client project teams, executive stakeholders, operational leaders, and technical resources throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Clearly communicate implementation risks, dependencies, challenges, and recommended solutions while driving collaborative problem solving across internal and client teams.
  • Develop and communicate a clear vision of customer success and regularly provide status updates to key stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Drive workflow optimization and adoption best practices that improve operational efficiency, financial visibility, and patient financial engagement outcomes.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting implementation timelines and customer satisfaction goals.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Experience working with Epic, Cerner, or other healthcare EMR platforms, including payment and financial workflow integrations preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) operations, including Patient Financial Services (PFS), payment posting, reconciliation, billing, and collections workflows.
  • Experience with patient payment platforms, payment processing operations, merchant onboarding, and healthcare financial transaction management.
  • Understanding of healthcare financial integrations, APIs, HL7/FHIR interfaces, and data exchange methodologies.
  • Familiarity with healthcare ERP, general ledger, treasury, or cash management systems and related reconciliation workflows.
  • Experience supporting integrations between EMR, payment, and financial systems within hospital or health system environments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, payer workflows, remittance processes, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Understanding of healthcare code sets, transaction standards, and HIPAA compliance requirements related to healthcare financial data exchange.
  • Experience working with large health systems or multi-facility hospital organizations preferred.
