Payment Operations Manager Platte Valley Bank
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the oversight and daily operation of the Bank's payment systems, including ACH, wire transfers, digital payments, real-time payment solutions, and other money movement services. Ensure funds move efficiently, accurately, and securely while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, network rules, and internal policies.
Actively participates in payment operations while overseeing risk management, process improvement, vendor relationships, and system enhancements. Partner with Treasury Management, Retail Banking, Information Technology, Compliance, and Data Operations teams to improve efficiencies, enhance payment capabilities, and support the Bank's growth objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Manage the daily operations of ACH, wire transfer, digital payment, and related payment services.
  2. Actively participate in payment processing, exception resolution, customer escalations, and operational support.
  3. Provide guidance, training, and support to Payment Operations staff.
  4. Monitor service levels, operational performance, payment volumes, and key risk indicators.
  5. Maintain payment procedures, controls, and business continuity plans.
  6. Ensure compliance with NACHA rules, wire regulations, OFAC requirements, BSA/AML expectations, and Bank policies.
  7. Participate in monitoring of payment activity for fraud trends, unusual transactions, and operational risk.
  8. Lead resolution of complex payment issues, audits, examinations, and risk assessments.
  9. Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and workflow enhancements.
  10. Manage payment-related system upgrades, software implementations, and vendor relationships.
  11. Collaborate with Treasury Management and business lines to support customer payment needs and product growth.
  12. Research emerging payment technologies and recommend enhancements that improve efficiency, scalability, and customer experience.
  13. Prepare management reports regarding payment activity, risk trends, operational performance, and strategic initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  2. Minimum five years of banking or financial services experience in payment operations, treasury management, electronic payments, ACH, wire transfer, or deposit operations.
  3. Supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  4. Strong knowledge of ACH processing, wire operations, digital payment solutions, and payment risk management.
  5. Thorough understanding of NACHA rules, Regulation E, OFAC requirements, and BSA/AML compliance.
  6. Demonstrated experience with process improvement, system enhancements, and project implementation.
  7. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking/payment processing systems.
  9. Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification preferred. Candidates not currently holding the designation must obtain AAP certification within eighteen (18) months of assuming the role.
  10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment regarding sensitive operational information.

Physical Requirements:
