What you will do

  • Lead the accounts payable team, including staffing support, training, cross training, and performance feedback
  • Oversee day to day invoice processing, vendor payments, and research on discrepancies or missing documentation
  • Support all aspects of property related payments such as rent schedules, common area maintenance true ups, and utility invoices
  • Review and approve AP activity in the accounting system and help ensure accurate coding to the general ledger
  • Assist with accruals, reconciliations, and other month end close activities related to payables
  • Coordinate AP related tasks when new locations open or existing locations wind down, including utilities and other recurring services
  • Support preparation of schedules and documentation for audits
  • Maintain and update vendor information and support credit related tasks and external reporting as needed
  • Partner with accounting leadership, operations, and IT to simplify workflows, build or refine approval rules, and increase automation in AP
  • Document new procedures and help the team adopt process changes that reduce errors and rework

What you bring


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting or payables
  • At least 1 to 2 years of experience managing or leading a team in an AP or accounting environment
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working in a large ERP or accounting system
  • Experience with complex vendors such as landlords, utilities, and high volume service providers
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to see patterns and trends in the data
  • A practical, service oriented approach to working with internal stakeholders and vendors
