Job description

As a Loan Specialist, you'll be the knowledgeable, confident voice guiding Veterans and service members through their VA home loan benefit. You'll kick off the homebuying journey, build trust quickly, and turn interest into forward momentum. Thanks to our marketing team, you'll spend most of your time connecting with borrowers who have already raised their hand-no cold calling required.
This is a fast-paced, performance-driven role where focus, follow-through, and strong communication skills directly impact your success. You'll own your conversations, manage your pipeline, and help borrowers take meaningful steps toward homeownership.
New to mortgages? No problem. Mortgage experience is a plus but not required-we're looking for people who are curious, great communicators, and passionate about helping others succeed.
This is a base plus commission role with strong earning potential and a clear path for growth. Your income grows as you build skill, consistency, and confidence in your craft. Top performers in their first few years earn around 75K, and by year three many are earning 100K plus, proving that effort, skill, and follow through really do pay off.
To sweeten the deal, we're offering a $500 sign-on bonus, and an additional $1000 upon passing your SAFE exam.
Daytime Loan Specialists typically work during normal business hours, with some need for evenings and weekends.
Flex Loan Specialists have a schedule outside of normal business hours. They have the flexibility to set their own schedule. This is a full-time position; however, those hours can be worked anytime of their choosing; within the following guidelines:
  • Anytime between 12PM-10PM Monday through Friday and anytime between 8AM-10PM Saturday and Sunday.
  • Flex Loan Specialists are required to work 2 nights a week until 10PM.
  • Flex Loan Specialists are required to work at least 32 weekend hours per month.

Here's what you'd be doing day to day:
  • Connecting with borrowers, learning about their goals, and guiding conversations that help them confidently move forward with the right VA loan option.
  • Reviewing credit and financial information to thoughtfully match borrowers with solutions that fit their needs and set them up for success.
  • Walking borrowers through each step of the loan process-setting clear expectations, answering questions, and helping secure strong rates and terms.
  • Staying organized and proactive in managing your pipeline so each borrower receives timely follow-up and a smooth experience.
  • Collaborating closely with teammates and cross-functional partners to keep things moving and deliver a positive, seamless borrower experience.

One important thing-you'd need to be NMLS licensed (but we can help you get that when you start).
About You:
  • A Clear, Caring Communicator: You enjoy helping people understand the loan process and take pride in explaining options in a way that feels simple, supportive, and stress-free.
  • Integrity at Your Core: You do the right thing because it matters, handling borrower information with care, accuracy, and respect every step of the way.
  • Detail-Minded & Dependable: You're comfortable working through documentation and repeatable processes, knowing that accuracy and consistency make a real difference for borrowers.
  • Calm, Helpful Problem Solver: When questions pop up or things get tricky, you stay steady, think things through, and help find a clear path forward.
  • Motivated & Accountable: You take ownership of your work, follow through on next steps, and get real satisfaction from seeing progress and results.
  • Team Player Through and Through: You contribute positively to the team environment, support your coworkers, and help strengthen the culture by stepping in where needed.
  • Adaptable with a Positive Outlook: You roll with change, handle a fast pace with confidence, and bring a steady, upbeat attitude to your work.

About Us:
We're all about helping Veterans and military families become homeowners. In two short decades, we closed over 500,000 VA Loans and became the #1 VA lender for homebuyers in the nation. But to us, success isn't measured in numbers. Our success is measured in living our values every day: Be Passionate and Have Fun, Deliver Results with Integrity and Enhance Lives Every Day. We always strive to provide friendly service to military homebuyers and their families. And we always seek to lift up people and communities across the country.
We're so glad you're here checking out this opportunity! If this role gets you excited but you're worried you don't check every box - don't sweat it. We're more interested in what you can bring to the team than a perfect checklist. If you're passionate, driven, and ready to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you. Come as you are, and together we'll create something amazing.
