Job description

Seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its collaborative team in San Dimas, CA. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and with other team members to apply critical thinking skills, perform engineering analysis, and prepare geotechnical reports for different types of projects. This individual will provide support to our team and perform duties as an office engineer, field engineer during subsurface exploration, and construction support geotechnical services. The successful candidate shall be able to perform calculations, prepare technical documents, and provide recommendations for foundations, retaining walls, pavements, and other geotechnical-related aspects of a project in a dynamic environment. In this role, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with an experienced group of engineering professionals on a wide variety of challenging project types ranging from airports, highways and freeways, vertical structures, infrastructure projects for federal and state, and local public works agencies in the Southern California area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Planning and execution of field investigations, including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, performing field tests, and collecting and recording data.
  • Performing geotechnical engineering analyses for foundations and pavements
  • Writing and preparing geotechnical reports for various project types
  • Observing foundation and earthwork construction activities and monitoring conformance with the construction documents (plans and specifications).
  • Familiarity and capability of working with common geotechnical software such as Lpile, Shaft, Settle3d, Slide, SlopeW, gINT, etc.
  • Preparation and modification of various engineering documents, including specifications, plans, cost estimates, and geotechnical reports.
  • Collaborating with team members on project tasks and assignments
  • The job may require local trips to/from job sites in Southern California.




  • 3 - 7 years of experience in the geotechnical engineering consulting industry
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering strongly preferred.
  • PE certification.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow directions and work in a team environment and work independently on the assigned tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent writing skills are a MUST.


Salary will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
