Job description

Objective

The position is responsible for diagnosing and performing service and/or repair jobs on paving related equipment (pavers, rollers, milling machines, and etc). The work will be performed in the field and shop depending upon business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and service paving related equipment (pavers, rollers, milling machines, and etc.) using proper tools and procedures
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently; work orders, service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts
  • Completes all required reporting for service time in an accurate and efficiently; this includes writing service reports, properly allocating time to each job, and tracking parts charged and parts returned
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met which requires working overtime (weekends and/or evenings) based on business needs
  • Maintains company issued equipment and tools, keeping them in good working orders
  • Complete all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner
  • Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in work area
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
  • 4 years or more of mechanical experience with paving equipment
  • A valid driver’s license

Preferred:

  • Associates in Diesel Technology
  • 6 years or more experience with paving equipment, preferably Caterpillar equipment
