New Pattern Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed mental health counselor to join our team remotely. Working within a community health clinic means collaborating with a dedicated team of mental health professionals, social workers, and healthcare providers. You will engage in case discussions and strategy sessions, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

• Conduct initial assessments and comprehensive evaluations of clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health through detailed interviews and standardized assessments.
• Design individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, reflecting their goals and needs, while considering their cultural and social contexts.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based interventions tailored to the client population.
• Continuously monitor and document client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans in response to evolving needs.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and other health professionals to coordinate care and manage referrals effectively.
• Provide ongoing support for clients, helping them identify challenges and develop coping strategies to enhance their recovery.
• Educate clients and their family members about mental health challenges, fostering a greater understanding of the therapeutic process.
• Stay updated with the latest best practices in mental health counseling to ensure the delivery of effective interventions.

The counselor will serve a diverse population including individuals, couples, families, and groups seeking assistance with a variety of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. Understanding the unique backgrounds and experiences of each client is paramount to providing effective care that resonates with their specific needs and cultural contexts.

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as either an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills conducive to effective client interactions and documentation.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding in all dealings with clients.

• Prior experience in a mental health counseling role, with a strong emphasis on client-centered approaches.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to facilitate efficient documentation and client management.
• Experience dealing with co-occurring physical health conditions and addiction disorders, providing a holistic approach to treatment.
• Familiarity with best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications and their effects on mental health.

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, complemented by a sign-on bonus.
