Job Requirements:

Assumes responsibility and accountability for assisting professional OR personnel by providing housekeeping, inventory, and stocking services.  Must be willing to cross train and float to meet the needs of the institution. Stock all warmers in OR with fluids and blankets during shift and at end of shift. Make sure formalin and specimen cups are well stocked in sub-sterile areas. Evenly distribute all necessary holding devices, ex.(candy cane / allen stir-ups) in sub-sterile areas. Trained as anesthesia techs to cover when anesthesia tech is absent.  Help transfer patients to OR bed and back to stretcher.  Help position patients for surgical procedures.  Transport specimens to lab.  Assist anesthesia with hooking up patients to transport monitors when transporting from ICU.  Clean lead monthly.  Transport blood to the OR when needed.  Must be knowledgeable in all OR procedures to be able to get the OR’s set up with the proper equipment for the surgeries.  Ex., Vascular, Neuro, Bariatrics, etc.
