About the Role:
Same Life Services is seeking experienced and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work in our Day Support Program. This position involves providing hands-on support to adults with developmental disabilities in a structured, active environment. Staff are expected to remain engaged throughout the day, support participation in activities, and provide consistent, quality care.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct, hands-on support to individuals with daily living activities (ADLs), including hygiene, grooming, mobility, toileting, and changing
  •  Facilitate engaging and structured activities that promote social skills, independence, and participation
  •  Complete daily notes and documentation in the agency’s online documentation system accurately and on time
  •  Monitor and document individual progress and behaviors in accordance with support plans
  •  Collaborate with team members to implement individualized support strategies and ensure consistency
  •  Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment throughout program hours
  •  Assist with transportation and support individuals during community outings
  •  Follow all health, safety, and company policies and procedures
  •  Provide respectful, professional support that maintains dignity and appropriate boundaries

Requirements:
  •  High school diploma or GED required
  •  Previous experience in direct support, CNA, or direct care strongly preferred
  •  Must be comfortable providing hands-on personal care, including toileting and changing
  •  Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  •  Calm, patient, and able to support individuals with varying needs and behaviors
  •  Professional, reliable, and able to maintain appropriate boundaries
  •  Ability to stay active and engaged throughout the shift
  •  Must pass background checks and meet all hiring requirements
  •  Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications, including CPR/First Aid, 32-Hour Medication Aide Training, Therapeutic Options of Virginia (TOVA), and all other agency-required trainings
