Job description

Responsibilities (ADAR):
  • Field-based in-person (or virtual as needed) education to defined accounts on access and reimbursement topics to support aligned product strategy.
  • Lead patient access and reimbursement in B2B conversations with account executives; manage pull-through of access/reimbursement strategy and downstream account operations.
  • Provide face-to-face program education to providers and staff; support integration into office workflows.
  • Address customer questions on ordering, payment, inventorying, and product returns/replacement.
  • Analyze access/reimbursement problems; support reimbursement with third-party payers at the provider level; identify local/regional/national reimbursement trends.
  • Support pull-through of local coverage decisions; communicate policy changes impacting other departments.
  • Inform customers about manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs (e.g., co-pay).
  • Maintain expertise in local/regional access landscape and serve as reimbursement expert as needed.
  • Interface with Patient Support Center and Access & Reimbursement Managers on case management, tracking, issue resolution, and staff education.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally within Novartis; handle PII appropriately (HIPAA/privacy compliance).
  • Identify and report adverse events via established Novartis systems.
Buy-and-Bill Specific:
  • Assess access locally; develop and communicate a Plan of Action (POA).
  • Educate HCPs on acquisition pathways and buy-and-bill end-to-end processes; include centralized/decentralized scenarios and alternate channels (e.g., white/clear/brown bagging, alternate sites).
  • Educate stakeholders on ordering, payment, inventory, and returns/replacement; engage non-prescribers (pharmacy, leadership, financial counselors, administrators, revenue cycle).
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelorโ€™s required; business/biological science preferred; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in pharma/biotech (Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, and/or account management), including 2+ years in patient services practice support for specialty products.
  • Experience with complex practices/health systems; proactive strategic account management.
  • Deep expertise integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs.
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy networks; knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, retail).
  • Strong understanding of Commercial, Medicare, and state Medicaid in assigned region.
  • Must live within assigned territory; travel 50%+.
  • Driving is essential: fully valid, unrestricted driverโ€™s license required.
Preferred:
  • Presentations to C-level executives; strong cross-functional collaboration; expertise in therapeutic area practice dynamics.
