What You'll Do Patient Access & Front Office
  • Welcome and register patients with warmth and professionalism, setting a positive tone for their visit
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments while optimizing provider schedules
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and prior authorizations to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Collect co-payments and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information
  • Manage multi-line telephone calls, route messages appropriately, and provide compassionate patient support
  • Navigate NextGen, Phreesia, and other electronic health record systems with confidence
  • Resolve front office concerns promptly while maintaining strict patient confidentiality
  • Coordinate patient communication regarding appointments, test results, and follow-up care needs
Clinical Support
  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, documenting comprehensive medical histories, and updating electronic health records
  • Assist providers during examinations, treatments, diagnostic testing, and specialty procedures
  • Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments in accordance with California law and organizational policies
  • Perform diagnostic testing and specialty clinical procedures within your scope of training
  • Educate patients about medications, testing procedures, treatment plans, and physician instructions
  • Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up care with other healthcare providers
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Prepare, stock, and maintain examination rooms, supplies, and equipment; monitor inventory and assist with ordering
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Minimum one year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
  • Proven experience with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a diverse team
  • Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 15 pounds occasionally, and use computers and telephones throughout the workday
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Medical Assistant Diploma
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular terminology and procedures
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish preferred)
Physical Requirements
