Jamison Professional Services, Inc. ("Jamison") is currently seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Medical Support Assistant.
Job Title: Medical Support Assistant (MSA).
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
The Medical Support Assistant is the responsible to support Community Care scheduling at VAPSHCS. Tasks include consult intake, outreach to Veterans/providers, scheduling, documentation, and escalation per SOP.
Hourly Rate:$25.02 + Benefits
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive administrative, scheduling, and customer service support within a VA healthcare setting. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting patients, managing clinic schedules, coordinating appointments, answering phones, maintaining electronic health records, verifying patient demographics and insurance information, processing consults, and supporting interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Ensure compliance with VA policies, patient identification procedures, privacy standards, and documentation requirements.
Key duties include:
  • Scheduling, rescheduling, and coordinating patient appointments.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to Veterans, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and demographic information.
  • Processing referrals, consults, and community care appointments.
  • Responding to patient inquiries and resolving concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Supporting clinic operations, access contingency plans, and daily administrative functions.
  • Collaborating with VA and community healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Meeting performance standards for accuracy (98%+) and scheduling timeliness (within 7 calendar days of consult assignment).

REQUIRED AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with medical scheduling, healthcare administration, or patient support services preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Have a High School education or GED equivalent.
Oral and written proficiency with English
Knowledge of Computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Minimum 12 months of experience as Medical Support Assistant
knowledgeable in the operation of office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, labelers, etc.) to scan, file and/or store both electronic and paper documents for future reference.
Location: Vancouver, WA 98661
Schedule: All contract work shall be performed Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. local time (Alaska, Pacific, or Mountain), excluding Federal holidays.
Clearance Level Required: Employment is contingent upon successfully completing any required background checks, in accordance with applicable law.
