Job description

Patient Service Rep

Inspired by faith. Driven by innovation. Powered by humankindness. CommonSpirit Health is building a healthier future for all through its integrated health services. As one of the nation's largest nonprofit Catholic healthcare organizations, CommonSpirit Health delivers more than 20 million patient encounters annually through more than 2,300 clinics, care sites and 158 hospital-based locations, in addition to its home-based services and virtual care offerings.

As our Patient Service Representative, you will serve as the essential first point of contact for patients, providing high-quality administrative support that ensures a seamless and efficient intake experience. You will play a vital role in the clinic's front-office operations by managing patient records, facilitating smooth check-in and check-out processes, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulatory standards. By providing exceptional customer service and accurate data management, you will directly contribute to the mission of Alegent Creighton Clinic and support our commitment to patient-centered care.

Every day you will be responsible for a variety of clerical tasks, including scheduling appointments, answering multi-line phone calls, and verifying patient insurance information. You will collect copays and deductible amounts at the time of service, scan critical medical documentation into electronic health records, and prepare patient charts to ensure clinic readiness. Additionally, you will follow up on missed appointments, confirm upcoming visits with patients, and maintain high standards of confidentiality while assisting with the daily flow of the clinic to ensure all business goals are met.

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong foundation in clerical support and a commitment to professional excellence. While a high school diploma or equivalent is required, candidates with one year of previous healthcare experience are preferred. You must possess a solid understanding of insurance authorization and billing requirements, along with the ability to analyze data and coordinate complex daily tasks. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as you will interact regularly with patients, families, and clinic staff to foster a collaborative and welcoming environment.
