Position Summary
The Patient Intake & Clinical Assistant is primarily responsible for preparing patients for their visits by ensuring they are roomed efficiently and accurately. This role includes escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining and documenting vital signs, reviewing medications, allergies, and medical history, and preparing patients for their provider visit. The patient intake & clinical assistant plays an important role in creating a positive patient experience while helping providers stay on schedule.
Although this is primarily a clinical support position, team members will be cross-trained on front desk responsibilities to provide coverage when needed. This may include checking patients in and out, answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and assisting with other front office duties during busy periods or staff absences.
This is an active position that requires the ability to remain on your feet for most of an eight-hour shift while walking between exam rooms, assisting patients, and supporting providers throughout the day. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent movement.
