Responsibilities:

Provides direct patient care in the surgical environment and works collaboratively with the surgeon and other team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Works under the direct supervision of the surgeon during the intraoperative phase. The RN First Assistant (RNFA) may not concurrently function as the Scrub Nurse while functioning as an RNFA.

Qualifications: Educationโ€ข Bachelor's Degree requiredโ€ข Successful completion of an RNFA program that meets the Association of Perioperative RN (AORN) standards requiredโ€ข Credentialed by the CHS Medical Staff Office as an Allied Health Professional and privileged to perform RN First Assistant standardized procedures requiredย Experienceโ€ข 1 year of relevant experience in area of specialty requiredย Licenses and Certificationsโ€ข RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California requiredโ€ข BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) requiredโ€ข ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required within 180 days of hire or transfer into positionโ€ข CNOR - Certified Operating Room Nurse from the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) requiredโ€ข CRNFA - Certified RN First Assistant preferred Disclaimers:
